Terms and Conditions

The terms and conditions here below are the ones applicable for all enrolments on the courses offered via the Centre.

Both CELTA courses and accommodation can be understood as “services”.

Course Schedule

Normally, lessons on a full-time CELTA course run Monday to Friday. Part-time CELTA courses will require the students to attend lessons for a few hours on two or three days each week of the course.
Course timetables are confirmed by the Tutors before the course starting date. At times, due to external circumstances or to suit the needs of the majority of students on the course, some changes on the timetable may be needed, please allow some flexibility for this.

If a course does not reach the minimum number of students required, the management team at the School reserves the right to change the course structure, schedule or even to cancel it.

By accepting their place on the course, the student acknowledges that one of the compulsory requirements to succeed in the course is to have attended 100% of the lessons.

Signing up and Payment

Once the candidate has gone through the application process and a place on the service has been offered by the Tutor, the School will be in touch regarding payment/s.

Upon reception of the payment document/instructions the student must quickly pay a deposit equivalent to 30% of the total purchased service/s to secure the place. Places on the course/service cannot be guaranteed until payment has been received. Note that places on the service are limited and the school follows a policy of “first-in (ie. pay) first-served”.

The balance must be paid 4 weeks before the start of the service. If registration is less than 4 weeks before the start of the service, the total cost of the service purchased will be requested after receipt of the registration confirmation.

Payment must be made by card or bank transfer. Details on how to pay will be provided by the School in due time.

Cancellations and Refunds

The deposit is non-refundable but can be transferred to another course run by the School within the year, provided that a minimum of 4 weeks’ notice (prior to the course start date) is given.

The balance of the course fees is due 4 weeks prior to the starting date of the course. In the case of serious illness whilst attending the course or in the 4 weeks immediately preceding it, it is entirely at the discretion of the School as to whether the student can be deferred and offered a place on a future course. Documented evidence of the illness may be required. In no circumstances will money be refunded.

Refunds of the course fee less the deposit may be considered in exceptional circumstances when the cancelation is made over 4 weeks prior to the start of the course.

Accommodation must be paid in full 4 weeks before the commencement of the course, and will not be refunded or part-refunded in the case of withdrawal from the course, or if any cancellation is made less than 4 weeks’ before the course begins.

Absences for personal reasons, early departures and late arrivals are not valid reasons to recover lessons or demand refunds of tuition or accommodation.

Accommodation

Accommodation is available from the day before the start of the course to the following day after the end of the course. There is no refund for early departures. A delayed arrival does not justify a delayed departure.

Treatment of complaints relating to the courses

Any student complaints about aspects of the School or the services offered must be presented to the administration office. Should there not be a timely intervention in the resolution of the complaint, the student can write to the management. Only complaints received before the end of the course will be taken into consideration.

Treatment of complaints relating to housing

In the need to change accommodation, if it is not possible to find accommodation with the required characteristics, the school reserves the right to propose an alternative solution. The centre may accept requests to change accommodation within the first three days of arrival. If a student wishes to change accommodation for personal reasons, not concerning the general conditions of the accommodation, a penalty will be applied, the amount of which will depend on the type of accommodation booked.

Students needing a visa to attend the course and/or enter Italy

Students who need a study visa to take the course or a short stay visa to enter Italy and attend the course with us in Florence, will be able to receive all the necessary documents needed to support their visa application, which they can then show to their local Italian Embassy or Consulate. The supporting documents will be sent by Europass Florence via email after having made the payment according to the instructions indicated by the School.

If the visa is not granted, the centre will be able to reimburse the amount paid only after receiving the written denial issued by the competent authorities. Please note, the centre will retain €150.00 of administration costs plus bank charges.

In addition, our Cancellations and Refunds policy mentioned above also applies to students requiring a visa. This means that if a student gets their visa application refused within the last 4 weeks before the course start date they will not get any refund, moreover, the deposit (i.e. 30% of the course fees) is not refundable even if the cancellation is made more than 4 weeks before course start date. For all of this we only recommend students requiring a visa to apply for courses with a start date far distance from the application date, at least five months is advisable.

Once the visa is issued by the competent authorities, it is not possible to change course dates. There are no refunds for courses not attended.

Insurance

Students will be held responsible for any damage caused to the school structure. the centre denies any responsibility for the loss of personal belongings within its premises. It is strongly recommended to obtain insurance against theft, loss of personal property, accidents or illnesses.

Acceptance of the regulation

Once enrolled, the student will automatically accept the conditions for enrolment of the School.
